Enhanced WiFi in our residence halls
While living on campus you will use a separate wireless network for the residence halls. This network is called “MyResNet” and it is managed by Apogee. Apogee is the nation’s largest provider of networking access for Higher Education Institutions.
Each resident will have the ability to register up to 10 devices and receive: 50 Mbps Upload and 50 Mbps Download per device.
If you need any help, a support representative is available 24 hours a day to assist you.
- Call support at 855-465-6746 (Ripon specific number)
- Email support@myresnet.com
- Chat live at www.MyResNet.com
- Receive support directly from your Apogee app
Gather your Device MAC addresses
To prepare in advance and make for a smooth process please gather the Mac addresses of each device that will need wireless service and write them down (google instructions for finding the Mac address for each device as needed). Ensure that when you record the Mac Address for each device you turn the private address/Mac Randomization feature to “off” before recording the Mac Address and keep that feature turned “off”. If it is “on” the Mac address will change frequently and your device will get kicked off the network often as it will not recognize your device. Click the links below for screen shots/help with turning off the Mac Randomization
Use private Wi-Fi addresses on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support
disable MAC randomization Android - Google Search
Connect your devices!
Make sure that all your devices like smartphones, tablets, and game systems are registered. Once you move into your residence hall you will connect each device to the network and service should come up automatically.
